April Showers bring May flowers

Well it has been raining for a few days here and we are running out of fun things to do. We still have to walk Cubby so we walk around in the morning with the rain pouring down on us. We were suppose to go see cousin Roisin's new house today but she was having something delivered and had to cancel on us. Maybe we will go and see Aunt Caitlin's new apartment, they have been painting all weekend and they may need some 'help'.

Good Morning

Good morning.

Jack started the day at 6am this morning which was pretty good as he went to bed at 6:30 last night. I did have to go in twice in the evening to give him a drink and comfort him but all in all it was a good night. As you can see the day starts with a bang, we have already walked Cubby and played for a while. Jack is very inquisitive and is getting frustrated (as am I) as he wants to walk and explore the world by himself. He is endlessly amused by Cubby, both with her fur, which he likes to grab and with her playing (he rolls with laughter when she plays with a stick).

This week Jack got his 6ths tooth which is incredible as many 8 months old have no teeth. He has also learned to recover from falling over from sitting. yesterday he rolled onto his stomach and pushed himself into 'Cobra".

In another news story he is officially a 'blankie' baby. He will not go to sleep or even take his evening bottle until he can first bury his face in his blanket.

Beautiful weekend

It was so nice here this weekend we did yard work, got all dirty and then got clean again.
Chris is going to B.C. for two weeks and then back for a day and then off to Scotland for 10 days. We will have to update the blog often so he gets lots of Jack love while he is away.
Lots of love to Dad from Mom and Jack

It was the best of times it was the worst of times...

Soya milk drinking family

It has been so long where do we begin? Easter was a great weekend as Uncle Tom and Aunt Kim came to visit. We were so glad they made the long trip and in such bad traffic too. They brought Jack his first Hawaiian shirt and told us about their trip and cruise to Hawaii. We were all most impressed and jealous. We particularly like the hot lava stories.

Chris and Karen are not as mobile as we once were and we are sure we bored Tom and Kim with our mundane life but, we did manage to have some new baby fun including taking the whole family and Cubby to Bruce Pitt (a dog park extra ordinaire) and going for brunch at Broadways. Kim, being a musical buff, seemed impressed by the Broadway posters . We ate lots of eggs and Jack ate toast and potatoes and left such a mess under his high chair I think they would have had to recarpet to clean up. It is ok, we left while the waitress looked the other way.

We were unable to go to our families for Easter as Dad (grandpa) was sick but we did have Grandma and auntie Caitlin over for Easter dinner on Sunday. It was rather quiet but Jack managed to liven it up. He does love a 'party' and cried when he had to go up for his bath.

In other news Jack is continuing his acquisition of teeth, he is up to 5. We are all glad as he is not a happy baby while the teeth are coming in. Jack is really starting to flourish, he loves to walk holding fingers (yes and he is only 8 months, no one ever believes mom until they see it for themselves). He does not however know how to crawl or seem to have any interest in learning anytime soon. Popular opinion is that he will skip that step all together.

And lastly we have joined the ranks of the Birkenstock wearing, tree hugging, Soya milk drinking families. It is believed that Jack is allergic or possibly sensitive to milk and so we have moved on to Soya formula. His skin irritations seem to have cleared up.
