Tooth update

We are happy to announce that after many sleepless nights and much crying, Jack has cut his third tooth. Funnily enough it is on the top (he already has the two bottom centre ones), but it is not the centre one this time it is the second tooth on the left side. That should be a picture when it fully comes in. We may have to change his name to 'Cletis'.

Vacationing down south

Well we returned from our 'spring break' (woohooo) and had a great time. We started off on a low note as our plane was delayed out of the gate, we almost missed our connection and we arrived late to pick up our rental car and low and behold...the airline lost our car seat. Chris was going to make them buy us one but luckily they had a loner. After this trip we now think Delta's slogan should be 'we love to fly and we don't know what is going on'. All in all the trip went well as Jack slept on both flights and smiled and flirted his way through everything.
At long last we arrived late in the evening to see Grandma Nancy. That is her holding Jack on the pier. It was a little cool but we still managed to walk on the beach, and soak up Fripp Island. We had dinner out at the boat house and had many long walks in the sun.

Next we moved on to visit Grandma and Grandpa O'Reilly in St.Augustine's Beach Florida. Once again we drove down and Jack was a trooper, we arrived in early afternoon to grandparents waiting anxiously at the balcony. Weather was warmer and we had to hide a bit at mid day but we had a great time walking on the beach, swimming in the pool and enjoying the snowbird lifestyle.
Many thanks to both set of grandparents for babysitting and helping us, it was a nice vacation and a rest for us.

He slept how long?

Jack was eating up a storm at dinner last night. At some point he decided it would be more fun to 'do it himself' which involved nearly taking his eye out with his baby spoon and playing in his fruit and cereal with his bare hands. Normally I would avoid the mess making but he seemed so happy I let him go to town. He was covered by a nice crust of fruit salad puree by the end.

We are all bright and cheerful this morning as Jack slept almost 12 hours last night!!! I must say that the whole word seems better when everyone sleeps. This was a nice change from the nights before where he woke up twice to eat.

Today we are going to get organised for our trip to South Carolina and Florida. We are all looking forward to the vacation! Look forward to pictures and notes from our trip...

maiden blog

Jack is 6 months and 3 weeks old this week. This week Jack learned how to sit up which is a great relief to mom who was putting her back out trying to help the 'Nutter' stand all day long.

Other milestones includes grabbing anything in reach, including the dog. Poor Cubby now scoots past Jack quickly so as not to loose a clump of fur.

In addition, Jack waved bye-bye for the first time yesterday and while it was weak, the call is that it was an official wave. Ironically, it was to a stranger at the mall, but hey you take what you can get.
We started the day at a bright 5 am this morning and mom is nursing her coffee on the couch, Jack on the other time is a morning person as seen at left.
