Jack and Finn

Auntie Christina and Cousins' Conor and Finn are in town visiting. Their house in Toronto is under big renovations so they are staying with G & G for abourt 2 weeks. Jack and Finn have had some time to hang out and they are adorable together. They both want to play with the Fisher Price bus and are starting to try and touch each other. Finn is on the right.

Dada, Mama

Well the Lynams have been busy lately and Jack has been hitting many milestones (including saying 'Mama' and 'Dada') and keeping us busy along the way.

Jack has discovered Elmo as the picture indicates and smiles hugely when he sees him. He also has started to furniture surf as you can see. It is exciting to watch but more worry as he does not want to sit and stay put anymore. He also enjoys walking on fingers and insists on stepping on or kicking everything he passes including the floor grates, shoes, toys lawn tools etc.

Jack has had a bit of a cold so he was up quite a bit and started the day at 5 this morning. Chris and I were at a loss at starting a day off so early so we took an outing to the only place open...a 24hrs Denny's. We were the only ones there!

Greg, Christina, Conor and Finn are in town so we went to see them at G & G's last night for dinner. Jack was a little jealous as he usually gets G & G's attention and the toys but he soon got over it, made friends and had a conversation with Finn which sounded like "ahhhhh", and "AHHHHH" in reply.

And lastly, Jack has aquired a love of the park swings! Grandma loves to take him and watch him squeal.

Dad flies home

Chris came in Monday evening. He was greatly missed by both Mom and Jack. Jack was already asleep but the two were reunited early the next morning. Chris was impressed by Jack's ability to stand against furniture and how well he walks on fingers. He commented that Jack is no longer an infant but a little boy now. Jack gave Dad a big hug when they were playing on the floor.
Alas, Chris seemed to have come home with a flu and was not feeling too perky so we will have to do our best to take care of him. He has travelled a lot lately and is probably over tired too.

Bed at last...

Busy day today. We went to Home depot to buy paint, stopped by G and G to visit, went for 2 long walks and then to Billings Bridge for a stroll and somewhere in there I managed to paint three coats in the new bathroom. Painting is tricky stuff with an 8 month old. Now I am going to eat and flop out as Jack has done.

Friends come by...

Our friend Dana and her son Alex came over for a visit yesterday. They are just home from a one month visit to Romania. The sun was shining and the temperature rose to 26'. Jack and Alex stared at each other while the dogs ran around the back yard.

Last week my friend Sue came by for a visit too. She is doing great and is doing the 2 day walk for the Cancer cure this summer. She has a new nephew Zigmunt (I hope I spelled it right) who was born in October, hopefully we can get Jack and Ziggy together this summer. Jack was especially busy that day and was anxious to get walking as the picture shows.

Yeh Dad is home!

Dad came in late Thursday and was anxious to see Jack who was asleep. He did the night feed and gave Jack his breakfast in the morning. Jack was all smiles and showed off his new ability to stand against furniture and walk fairly adeptly on fingers. Chris had to catch a flight to Scotland at 3pm so there was not much time but we did manage to go for brunch and enjoy the beautiful weather in the back yard. Later that day after Chris left we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s and stayed for dinner. Jack had his bottle and fell asleep on the way home. It was a nice treat for Karen who is spoiled with help from Grandma and Grandpa.

Business as usual

Well it has been a busy week indeed. Monday we went to the Early Years Centre as usual and saw some of our friends. Grandma and Grandpa have been teaching Jack to put his hands in the air and when a girl at the centre put her hands up Jack stared at her for a second and then put his hands up. He was so proud of himself, all smiles. He then smiled and shouted during sing song to the point where the teacher stopped to say ‘Jack sure is enjoying himself’.

Later that day we were playing in the living room and in an attempt to keep Jack amused a little longer I put Jack in the laundry basket. He loved it and to my surprise pulled himself up to standing. I was so excited I ran to get the camera and take a mini movie. Jack did it again on cue but alas tumbled over the basket, I dove to catch him with the camera still rolling. He was fine but the ending of the mini movie looks like we had an earth quake.

Today our bathroom is being demolished so we will stay home and ‘help’ the men. Jack loves ‘helping’ and is fascinated by power tools. He was mesmerized by a tree being taken down with a chain saw the other day at Grandma’s.house.
